Animal Welfare and Pest Control
Dog Wardens
Argyll and Bute Council employs four dog wardens, one placed in each area of Argyll. They deal with all aspects of dog control, such as:
- Promotion of responsible dog ownership
- Enforcement of Dog Fouling legislation and erection of "No Dog Fouling" signs
- Enforcement of Dog Control legislation (Dangerous Dogs)
- Uplift and care of stray dogs

Pest Control
The presence of rodent or insect pests often causes embarrassment and distress and can lead to loss of business, goodwill, and reputation. These pests can also contaminate food and add a high risk of contracting food poisoning from their infestation.

Animal Health and Welfare
Our Animal Health team undertakes the Council’s regulatory work in respect of animal health and the welfare of animals
