Council sets out vision for Argyll and Bute

Boosting employment, growing the housing sector, improving educational attainment, upgrading infrastructure and tackling climate change are some of the key priorities highlighted in Argyll and Bute Council’s latest Corporate Plan.

At a recent meeting, councillors approved a new Corporate Plan for 2023-2027. It sets out the council’s strategic direction and outlines its priorities for the future in supporting local communities.

A key element of the updated plan is a new Annual Business Plan, which provides details on activity planned for the next financial year and explains how the council will measure its progress.

The aim of the Business Plan, which will be refreshed each year, is to bring more focus and scrutiny on the delivery and performance of the council against its top priorities. This will demonstrate more clearly the link between strategic priorities and performance.

Further information on both the Corporate and Business Plans is available on the council website https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/moderngov/ieIssueDetails.aspx?IId=134303&PlanId=0&Opt=3#AI164488

Councillor Robin Currie, Leader of Argyll and Bute Council:

“The Corporate Plan outlines the council’s vision and strategic direction for the coming years. It outlines the actions required to fulfil our vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Argyll and Bute.

“The landscape in which we deliver our services is constantly changing. We need to continue to transform how we work to ensure we deliver the services our communities need and prosperous future for the area.

“The key to the success of our activities is partnership. We recognise that by working together with our partners, stakeholders, and local communities, we can build a brighter future for Argyll and Bute.”
