Highlight / progress report - Dunoon Waterfront pdf icon PDF 128 KB

Minutes:

David Torrance spoke on the Highlight/Progress Report for the Dunoon Waterfront.

 

David Torrance noted that the public consultation event on the 20th September was Well attended. There has been good feedback to the suggestion of incorporating the library within the Queen’s Hall.  Discussions are still ongoing regarding the Customer Service Points also being incorporated.  David advised he had spoken to Visit Scotland and Cowal Highland Gathering representatives and that they were both interested in progressing discussion on being included in the events hub within the Queen’s Hall. 

 

Decision

 

The Board noted the information provided.

David Torrance spoke on the progress, findings and key outcomes of the Draft Dunoon Pier Strategy advising that from 18th November the Pier and Buildings are now classed as Category A Listed Structures. 

 

Decision

 

The Board agreed:-

 

i.                     To note the key outcomes of the Draft Pier Strategy.

ii.                   To review the Draft Pier Strategy and provides comment to the design team Project Manager

iii.                  Agrees that resources are sought to progress the key findings of the Pier Strategy to report to Full Business Case.

iv.                 Agreed the short term maintenance plan for the Pier be submitted to the January Area Business Day.

Dunoon Waterfront Project - Business Case Strategy pdf icon PDF 187 KB

Minutes:

 

David Torrance spoke on the outcome of the initial costing review and value engineering exercise of the Dunoon Waterfront Project Business Case Strategy for managing the components of the project to meet the budget.

 

Decision

 

The Board agreed:-

 

i.                     To note the outcome of the initial costing exercise and agreed the strategy for managing the budget.

ii.                   To allocate a proportion of the budget to the wider ferry infrastructure improvement works package to ensure that a coherent scheme is delivered, rather than designing and delivering the harbourmaster building in isolation.
