Apologies for absence were intimated from Councillors Gordon Blair, Mary-Jean Devon, David Kinniburgh, Roderick McCuish and Alistair MacDougall.

There were no declarations of interest.

The Head of Governance and Law advised the Committee that a letter had been received the day before from the Licence Holder’s Solicitor requesting that this Hearing be continued to another day.  He advised that at the same time a request for immediate suspension of the Licence had been received from Police Scotland.  Mr Reppke advised the Committee that it would be fair to allow the Hearing to be continued but to perhaps not wait until the next scheduled PPSL Committee meeting in May but to seek an earlier date.

The Chair invited Sergeant Ferguson to comment on the request for a continuation of the Hearing.  He advised that the Police did have concerns about public safety but it was a matter for the Committee to determine.

Decision

Having noted the comments made by Sergeant Ferguson and the advice given by the Head of Governance and Law the Committee agreed to continue consideration of the Suspension Hearing till Monday 11 May 2015 at 9.30 am.
