Hypnotism Licence

Exhibitions, demonstration or performance of hypnotism which take place in public require to be authorised by the Local Authority.

Itinerant Metal Dealer’s Licence

If you act as an itinerant - or travelling metal dealer - you must be licensed by your local authority. Such a licence will allow you to sell scrap metal anywhere in Scotland.

Knife Dealers Licence

To enable a person to trade as a knife dealer within Argyll and Bute, you need a licence from the Local Authority.

Market Operators Licence

To run a private market within Argyll and Bute you require a licence from the local authority.

Metal Dealer’s Licence

A Metal Dealer’s Licence is required by a person who carries on the activities of a Metal Dealer.

Petroleum Storage Certificate/Licence

Please contact our Trading Standards team to discuss any matter regarding an existing site or discuss proposals for a new site.

Premises Licence (for premises to sell alcohol)

If you wish to sell alcohol, your premises must be licensed.

Private Hire Driver’s Licence

To work as a private hire driver in Argyll and Bute, you need a licence from the Local Authority.

Riding establishment licence

To run a riding establishment (where horses or ponies are hired out for riding or used for riding instruction) in England, Scotland or Wales, you need a licence from the local authority.

Scaffolding Permit

If you need to erect scaffolding over the road or footway - you must complete and read the necessary application forms.

Second hand goods dealers licence

To work as a Second Hand Goods Dealer within Argyll and Bute you require a licence from the local authority.
