Who are we?
We have been delivering the government's New Deal programme since 1999, which aimed to support the long-term unemployed back to the workplace, and now we are working as a sub-contractor of Working Links, to deliver the government's new Work Programme throughout Argyll and Bute, the Highlands and Islands, and the north of West Dunbartonshire.
What do we do?
Although our core work relates to the support of the long-term unemployed, we are involved in many aspects of Economic Development, and work with the Business Gateway Team, looking at closer relationships to enable small businesses to prosper and many of our customers to access employment. We work with local communities to enhance environments and to deliver pieces of project work aimed at delivering sustainable solutions to localised difficulties.
Working within our remote, rural and coastal areas has its challenges and rewards, and during the past 10 years the Team has enabled 1,500 individuals to access long-term employment.
Our Delivery model
The past few years have seen the development of our delivery model "Project Craftwork". This enables our customers to access a range of support mechanisms both in and outside the working environment. We also offer a range of SVQs delivered in-house, and are looking to extend this further. This delivery model aims to offer choices to our customers, providing the right support for the individual, at the right time.
Following an initial induction and assessment, at which the customer's needs and aspirations are defined and from this a personal action plan is created, they are then offered a range of support processes best suited to their needs. Project Craftwork offers flexibility and choice for each individual through the delivery of six options, currently under review, which each customer has the opportunity to access during their time with the team. Further, each customer has the opportunity to move between these six options accessing the correct level of support required as they move nearer to the jobs market.
