Survey to Help Argyll Business Gateway Create New Events and Workshops

Business Gateway are looking to introduce some new workshops to their programme of events for Autumn and Winter and would appreciate your input and feedback on what you would be interested in attending and what you would like to see us providing training on.

"Create Your Own PR"
This interactive workshop explores how you can generate publicity for your business with minimum spend. You will learn how to identify and create a news angle, how to construct a press release and how to reach the right media. You will leave the day with a story about your business ready to issue to journalists and create exposure for your business.

"Social Media for Business"
Social media can boost your business. This workshop shows how you can use social networks to best effect for your business as well as the pitfalls to avoid. It will help you make informed choices about which social networks to engage with and how to evaluate success.

"Widening Your Market"
Do you want your business to reach markets beyond Scotland but aren’t sure where to start? This workshop will outline the steps you need to take when considering exporting. It will help you review your business and its ability to take advantage of wider markets. It will also outline the support available to help you put together a successful strategy and potential funding towards export activity.

"Retail Merchandising – Stand Out from the Crowd"
How your retail business presents its products can give you a competitive edge over the competition. Merchandising includes everything from designing and creating the best interior layouts and window displays to ensuring the visual style maximises sales. This workshop will help you develop a practical approach to merchandising to help you attract and retain customers, drive sales and profit and communicates your proposition effectively.

"Energy Efficiency for Business"
This event will guide you through energy efficiency solutions to make savings for your business and reduce your environmental impact. The workshop looks at the business opportunities regarding energy efficiency, and why there is a need to save energy, and what benefits this can bring.

"Crafts"
This workshop aims to inspire craft sellers and help them reach more customers with practical selling tips. It covers a range of practical and proven techniques including communicating with customers via social media, networking, identifying opportunities for collaboration with other craft businesses, making an impact at fairs and exhibitions and choosing where to sell.

"Employment and Legislation"
The aim of this workshop is to give an overview of current employment legislation, employer responsibilities and employee rights. It considers the practical issues around implementing the legislation covering recruitment, contracts of employment and managing employee relations.
