Location

The Resource Centre is situated in Lochgilphead, which is a little under two hours by road from Glasgow and is served by a bus link with the city. Travel time to Oban is less than one hour by road. Lochgilphead offers a small but unusual range of specialist shops as well as a swimming pool and a sports centre.

Services

Lochgilphead Resource Centre provides day care to people with a learning disability. The staff work towards specific principles of citizenship in providing this service. The Principles are -

People are supported to realise their full potential in a centre where equality and diversity are valued.

The Centre offers the following services -

• Appropriate personal care
  
• Offer people the chance to improve aspects of their life, as they would wish, through Person Centred Planning
  
• Facilitate ongoing total communication assessments including provision of photographic "passports" and visual aid.
  
• Develop informal network and friendships
  
• Support transition to independent living
  
• Promote further education, employment and leisure opportunities
