Port Charlotte Primary School
Isle of Islay,
Argyll
PA48 7TW
Port Charlotte Primary is a non-denominational and co-educational school. It is a modern school set in the picturesque village of Port Charlotte on the western shore of Loch Indaal. The school has a panoramic view of the loch and the distant Paps of Jura. It enjoys close links with the communities of Port Charlotte, Bruichladdich, Portnahaven, Port Wemyss and the whole Rhinns area of Islay.
It is a community school which has grown up and developed with the neighbouring area and many people in the community make a very welcome contribution to the life of the school.
We are fortunate that school activities such as assemblies, concerts, sports days, extra-curricular activities and fundraising events us are supported not only by parents but by the whole community.
The building is constructed on one level throughout. It consists of one enclosed classroom and one large teaching area with an adjacent general purpose area.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the HM Inspectorate of Education website.
Follow Through Inspections are carried out at schools where areas for improvement have been identified in the original inspection, and if any follow through reports have been produced for this school, they will be available for you to read and download below.
