Capacity
The imaginative use of drapes and a canopy enables the hall to be adapted to accommodate smaller events, such as seminars, where the drapes create a sense of reduced space and a more intimate atmosphere. The substitution of the drapes and canopy with netting, means that the main hall can also be quickly converted into a versatile indoor sporting facility.
Popular sports hosted in the main hall include football and bowling. The winter Indoor Football Tournament has been a feature of local life for over 50 years, and regularly attracts hundreds of spectators every week.
The large stage can be readily adapted for all types of events, including shows and drama events, as well as meetings and conferences. A recent upgrade of the stage lighting installation has greatly improved its versatility, and our technical team is always on hand to discuss particular requirements and requests.
The Lesser Hall
The Lesser Hall has its own entrance and foyer, and can therefore be used independently of the upper floors. It makes an ideal exhibition, or gallery area, and can be used for large meetings. It is used every August to mount the Art Club exhibition and is also regularly used for dance classes and by local organisations such as Rothesay and District Pipe Band for practice sessions.
Adjacent to the Lesser Hall. The Cloakroom is an ideal venue for smaller training courses or meetings (up to approx 20 persons).
