Invites have been issued to children with visual impairments from across Argyll and Bute who may wish to attend a Fun Day next weekend.

The free event for the children and their families has been jointly organised by Argyll and Bute Council, NHS Highland and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Among the activities on offer will be swimming in the morning and Samba drumming in the afternoon.

Argyll and Bute Council’s spokesperson for Social Services, Councillor Donald McIntosh, said: “The aim of the day is two-fold - to provide information and advice to parents and to allow visually impaired young people and their siblings to meet up and have fun together.

“Representatives from the Health Board and the RNIB will be there if parents wish to raise particular issues or have any questions which they would like answered, so I am sure there will be a good turnout for what promises to be a great day out.”

The event will be held on Saturday, March 13 at the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray. Anyone needing more information should contact 01369 701066.
