Kilninver Primary School serves a wide rural area to the south of Oban. There are two main classrooms and a general-purpose hall. Pupils are taught in composite classes.
The local policeman, chaplain and community nurse support the school in both educational and pastoral ways, and various volunteers contribute to extra curriculum activities.
All pupils are transported to school, the majority coming from Kilmelford seven miles away. Others live in smaller settlements within the catchment area, which extends from Knipoch to the north of the school to Arduaine to the south, also taking in Scammadale Glen to the east and Clachan Seil to the west.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the HM Inspectorate of Education website.
Follow Through Inspections are carried out at schools where areas for improvement have been identified in the original inspection, and if any follow through reports have been produced for this school, they will be available for you to read and download below.
