Kilmartin Primary School sits amidst the fertile lands, peat bogs and surrounding hills that make up Kilmartin Glen. This area has been occupied since the earliest times when hunter-gatherers first changed to a more settled life style and began to cultivate the soil.
There are Neolithic and Bronze Age chambered and round cairns, stone circles, rock carvings, Iron Age forts, duns and crannogs, early Christian sculptured stones and medieval castles, only a stones throw from the school.
In 1994-5 the building underwent a major renovation which now provides a higher quality of facilities for all who use the school.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the Education Scotland website.
Follow Through Inspections are carried out at schools where areas for improvement have been identified in the original inspection, and if any follow through reports have been produced for this school, they will be available for you to read and download below.
