Kilcreggan Primary School is non-denominational and co-educational. It is situated on the Rosneath peninsula between the villages of Cove and Kilcreggan and has a picturesque location sitting on a high ground midway between the two villages. Housing is spread over a wide area from Millbrae to Coulport and therefore almost half the children attending the school come by contract transport.
The main part of the present building was opened in 1971 but an annex of the old school was retained. This annex houses our preschool unit and P1 class. The main building consists of five classrooms of good size and attractive design. These rooms are occupied by P2 to P7 pupils.
The remainder of the space in the main building comprises toilet facilities, offices, resource rooms, computer bay, library, staff room and the main hall which is also used for lunches, P. E. and music. The grounds are large and as well as hard surfacing there is a blaes football pitch and school garden.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the HM Inspectorate of Education website.
Follow Through Inspections are carried out at schools where areas for improvement have been identified in the original inspection, and if any follow through reports have been produced for this school, they will be available for you to read and download below.
