Kilchattan Primary School

The school is small, rural, non-denominational and multi-composite, with a pre 5 unit attached and a maximum capacity of 21 children.

The school has a welcoming and friendly ethos, based on a sound partnership between staff, parents and pupils. Each child is encouraged to develop to its full potential.

The school is situated on the west side of the island, about 4 miles from the ferry terminal. It is a single storey building built around the turn of the century comprising a classroom, GP room, dining room, kitchen and office. It is well equipped and videoconferencing equipment encourages us to foster and maintain links with other schools.

Our local High School is Oban High, which the children attend on a weekly basis, returning home for weekends either by boat or plane.

Every effort is made to minimise isolation and encourage integration.
