Furnace Primary school is a small rural school which occupies a central position in the village of Furnace. It is the focal point of many community activities having very close links with the parents and the local community. Although built in 1876 it is a combination of Victorian building with modern fittings which provides a welcoming, stimulating environment for staff and pupils.
It is part of a co-operative of schools which includes Archonnel, Inveraray and Minard primary schools.Staff from all four schools work together to share expertise and experience.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the HM Inspectorate of Education website.
Follow Through Inspections are carried out at schools where areas for improvement have been identified in the original inspection, and if any follow through reports have been produced for this school, they will be available for you to read and download below.
