About our School : Luss Primary is a small, rural school situated on the western shores of Loch Lomond. Its location is one of great geographical and historical importance and is situated in Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The catchment area of the school is fairly extensive, with pupils from the village being joined by those from Inverbeg to the north, Arden to the south and Muirlands to the west. We regularly find that placing requests are made to the school from outlying areas. The school is currently accommodated in two classrooms, P1-3 and P4-7. There is also a dining/general purpose room. Class teachers are supported by the head teacher, a classroom assistant and a visiting teachers of music and learning support . The school ethos we endeavour to promote is that we are seen as a team, with pupils, parents/carers, teachers, auxiliary and ancillary staff all been valued equally. At Luss Primary School we endeavour to cater for the wide range of ability levels and interests of our pupils. We strive to deliver a broad curriculum in line with the 5-14 National Guidelines, with particular emphasis on raising standards in pupil attainment. Through learning and following by example, we encourage our pupils to show concern for one another, to care for their school and their environment, to develop their individual personalities and become caring and responsible members of the wider community. We are particularly keen to forge home/school links and believe that a good parent/child/teacher partnership greatly assists us in all aspects of school life.
