About our School : Glassary Primary is a non-denominational school situated in the attractive village of Kilmichael, near Lochgilphead in the Mid-Argyll area of Argyll and Bute Council. It is part of the Lochfyneside schools co-operative group which meets regularly to disseminate good practice and arrange joint activities for the pupils within this wider group. All of these pupils attend Lochgilphead high School on completion of their time in their local primary. Glassary Primary has two large classrooms which host classes P1 – 3 and P4 – 7, along with a third spacious area which is used for drama, P.E. and music by staff and visiting specialists. This room doubles as the quiet area with a newly refurbished library where pupils have access to research facilities. Pupils have access to a variety of IT equipment and are versatile in their application of this. Parent helpers are welcomed by pupils and staff alike. Glassary Primary is extremely fortunate to have a pro-active school board, which meets on the first Monday of each month. Assisted by pupils, all parents, and staff, the board members are enthusiastic communicators and fund-raisers. Recent activities include pupil-led activities such as Burns’ Supper, Harvest Lunch, Christmas Musical, production of a local calendar and a termly school newspaper. These activities may be seen in detail on the Glassary School Board Website. The aim of Glassary Primary School is to provide each child with opportunities to develop her/his capabilities to potential. The school ethos provides pupils with a comprehensive selection of experiences encouraging each child to make informed judgements in life beyond school.
