This is a typical ‘cotter’s-house’ which has recently be restored from its original ruined state by the Lismore Historical Society, employing local craftsmen. It provides insight in the history of the island and is a showcase for the traditional skills many islanders still have. Whilst visiting the cottage, you are also welcome at the Society’s archive centre, at present still based in Achnacroish. Please phone beforehand.
