Education and Learning

The area’s primary schools have consistently exceeded national attainment measures in reading, writing and mathematics. At secondary school level, Argyll and Bute has an impressive average of over 90% of pupils achieving at least five standard grades at foundation, general or credit level and an average of over 20% of pupils achieving three Higher grades or more. National test results place the schools in Argyll and Bute at the top end of Scottish attainment. In addition, school children from this area have a higher than national take-up of higher education placements.
