What is connecting and communicating...
Connecting and Communicating is a dialogue between the Council, its partners and the Third Sector (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations).
Partners are working together to improve access to information and to break down any barriers to the Third Sector in accessing services and getting support. We aim to highlight good practice and create improved ways of working and we think this will go a long way to strengthening the Sector.
We are encouraging as many people as possible from the Third Sector to have their say and share views about the services and support they receive from a range of bodies. The dialogue is taking place between May and the end of July this year and a range of workshop sessions, events and online information and consultation materials will be available throughout that period.
The key areas we want your views on are:
Community Planning Partnership (Which is made up of all the organisations that deliver your services)
The way this is structured is changing and we want to keep you informedCommunity Engagement Strategy
We have a new strategy to share with you that is about how you can influence the way we run the Council at a local and an Argyll-wide levelDemonstration Project
We have worked to improve the way the Council supports the Third Sector focusing on four key areas; funding, bidding to run services, acquiring assets like buildings and running them for the community, becoming a Social Enterprise – earning income to plough back into the community. We need your views on whether we have got this right Thanks to everyone who responded and to those who attended meetings to give their thoughts and opinions. The consultation is now closed and results will appear here Dec 2009/Jan 2010. For more information about the Dialogue, you can download our leaflet below
