1.3 Links with other plans and Strategies

This new Local Transport Strategy for Argyll and Bute has been put together with links to and input from many different sources:

On a national level -

  • Scotland's Transport Future "The Transport White Paper 2004"
  • Scotland's National Transport Strategy

On a regional level -

  • HITRANS and SPT Regional Transport Strategies

These documents set out the vision for transport nationally and regionally under the five key Scotland wide objectives of: Economy, Integration, Environment, Accessibility and Safety.

On a local level -

  • Community Planning Partners

There are a number of the partners' plans / strategies that will affect Moving Forward, in particular Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Park Plan and strategies for health improvement, housing, developing the local economy and protecting the environment.

Within Argyll and Bute Council -

  • Corporate Plan
  • Local Plan
  • Structure Plan

The Corporate Plan is a joint vision with Community Planning Partnership's "Argyll and Bute: Leading the Rural Area". This is to be achieved through the following themes:
