Archives
Our Archives house the official records of Argyll and Bute, where we hold information going back as far as 1400. If you are looking to find out more about your family, house or local history, you can find out how to access this on our Archives page.
Local Studies
The Local Studies department holds a wealth of information about Argyll and Bute, with each local library holding a small collection about their area, and library headquarters housing the bulk of the information. We have information which you can use to research family history, such as Old Parish Records, Census records, and much more. We also hold a large collection of local books, newspapers and maps - if you want to find out more, please have a look at the Local Studies page.
