FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS IN ARGYLL & BUTE

Text Box: SEPA’s new restoration fund

SEPA has received money from the Scottish Government to set up a fund to restore the condition of Scotland's water environment and to support partnership projects with third parties. The fund will progressively increase over the next two years towards £1m in 2011/12 and is then expected to continue at £1m. It is important that every project aims to deliver improvements to wetlands, rivers, lochs/ponds, estuaries or coasts; contribute towards achieving Water Framework Directive objectives; and, where possible, deliver a wider range of environmental, social and economic benefits. Examples of partnership projects that could be considered for funding are on the SEPA restoration website

Deadlines for applications are also on the website; the first deadline for this financial year is 30 June. If you have any project ideas or are aware of any projects that may be eligible for funding, e-mail: restoration.proposals@sepa.org.uk
